For Young Adults
What is a Young Adult?
A young adult (YA) typically defines a group of people between the ages of 8 and 18, and includes a category of books aimed at readers between those ages. It includes two main subcategories:
-
Middle Grade (8–12 years old): Books for younger readers, often focusing on themes of friendship, adventure, and self-discovery, with protagonists around the same age as the readers.
-
Teen (13+ years old): Books for older readers that tackle more complex themes like identity, relationships, and personal challenges, often with protagonists who are teenagers themselves.
Both subcategories offer stories that resonate with their respective age groups, providing relatable characters and experiences.
